Community Outreach

Kedron Vets services for Vins injured birdsKedron Valley Veterinary Clinic has a strong commitment to the area’s animal community, working closely with a variety of programs.

Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS)- www.vinsweb.org
Under Dr. Murrell, Kedron Valley Veterinary Clinic provided surgical and diagnostic services for injured birds and VINS Raptor Center residents. Through advances in avian orthopedic treatments most of the VINS’s surgical needs are met by specialists, however the clinic continues to volunteer x-ray services to VINS.

We work closely with several programs available to help low income families care for their pets and reduce the number of unwanted stray and feral animals.

Vermont Spay Neuter Incentive Program (VSNIP)- www.vt-can.org/vsnip.php
Vermont Spay Neuter Incentive Program (VSNIP) is a State-run program that provides spay and neuter services for low income pet owners. Kedron Valley Veterinary Clinic is a strong supporter of VSNIP, an important resource for pet owners in need. As a participating clinic, we provide low-cost spay and neuter services. Vermont Volunteer Services for Animals (VVSA)- www.vvsahs.org
VVSA is an organization "dedicated to working on behalf of animal welfare and humane education." They offer adoption services as well. Kedron Valley Veterinary Clinic provides discounted medical care and vaccinations for VVSA animals.

When thinking about a new addition to your family, please consider contacting VVSA or SAP (Save a Pet Rescue) with whom we also work very closely.

Save a Pet Rescue (SAP)- www.saprescue.org
Founded and run by Sonja Blanchard, SAP is a rescue organization that finds adoptive homes for pets at risk in "kill shelters." Kedron Valley Veterinary Clinic provides SAP with discounted spay/neuter services, medical care, and vaccinations.

We also see pets adopted from the following local organizations in addition to the many rescue organizations online:
